Cradle of Filth – The Screaming Of The Valkyries (2025) Album Review

Summary
I'll get right to the point with my primary positivity for the album: when Cradle of Filth is on... they're on. There are always these pockets of fantastic instrumentals that elevate their songs (not you, Non Omnis Moriar), surrounded by the quintessential gothic angst and "seduction" that they're known for. These themes I don't really care for - spare me the platitudes. And incidentally, if I do hear the word "forevermore", it's an instant softening. Dani Filth's vocals are exactly what you expect them to be, and without any instrumental songs, I hope you're as much of a fan of it as I am. That being said, I've got a soft spot for Cradle of Filth, so his vocals are mainly nostalgic for me. From start to finish, The Screaming Of The Valkyries is a solid album across the board: great compositions, highly enjoyable melodies and rhythms, a generally energetic pacing throughout the album, with some parts crossing over to thrashier styles, and a fantastic end to the album with Ex Sanguine Draculae and When Misery Was A Stranger . If you're a fan of metal in general, this is a worthwhile album for you to listen to - just keep your pants on. Or don't. Our email address is in the footer.

The resident cave dwelling, chug loving, prog snob that doesn't like prog. You'll find me overindulging in mediocre music and rating it way too high.
