Warbringer – Wrath And Ruin (2025) Review
Summary
Warbringer - back again with another groovy, thrashy, and melodic full length release that ultimately, to get to the point, doesn't disappoint at all. There is a distinct level of dissonance throughout the album that carries a more harrowing aesthetic of storytelling, similar to At The Gates (at least, that's what I'm quickly reminded of) and that's a major bonus for me. However, at this point, if you're a Warbringer fan, you know what you're in for and for that alone it's a great release. Wrath And Ruin is replete with high energy and subtle melody that will have you punching walls during The Jackhammer, only to be reminded of your folly during Through A Glass, Darkly: it's a nice journey and you should be on it. That being said, if you have a rental bond, consider ignoring this. Good
- Aggressive and visceral rhythms
- Great compositional showcase
- Appropriate and memorable melodic lines
- Really strong vocals that accentuate the overall aesthetic
- Love the progressive elements
Bad
- I was hoping for more galloping rhythms, but that's fine
