Crownshift – Crownshift (2024) Review

Summary
With no knowledge or expectations of Crownshift's self-titled album, I was pleasantly surprised by how accessible and entertaining of a listen it was. The neglected ADHD-addled child of Children of Bodom, Strapping Young Lad, and Threat Signal, Crownshift is a must listen for metal fans of old, or for anyone wanting a more "standard" metal experience.
Good
  • Good ole metal
  • Great vocals
  • Melodic, groovy riffs
Bad
  • Some unimaginative sections
8.1
Great
Leads & Melodies - 8.2
Rhythms & Percussion - 8
Vocals - 8.2
Lyrics & Themes - 8
Composition - 8
The resident cave dwelling, chug loving, prog snob that doesn't like prog. You'll find me overindulging in mediocre music and rating it way too high.
