AVNEYA – Road to I (2024) Review

Summary
Avneya's 'Road to I' was not an album that had been on any radars I was aware of until I stumbled across it mentioned in passing. Going in blind and with no previous conceptions, I can say the short yet punchy album was full of surprises, hooks and beautiful operatic vocals to blow the listeners away. That being said, at times it felt like it was missing that little bit more to really bring the wow factor. Perhaps a longer run time would be the solution with more intricacies and bigger hooks.
Good
  • Well mixed and brutal, haunting harsh vocals
  • Melodically beautiful in parts, especially the intro song
Bad
  • A good album, but needs work to be a great album, especially in the vocal varieties used.
  • Making hooks stronger would help keep listeners coming back for more

Sorting the musical gems being released through the swampy waters is a tedious task, so why not let me do it for you.
