Tremonti – The End Will Show Us How (2025) Review

Summary
Ahh, Tremonti... One of the handful of bands that in my mind can do no wrong, and The End Will Show Us How is no different. What stood out immediately was how the riff writing had evolved: it's not quite prog, it's not quite thrash, but it's in some beautiful spot in the space between close enough to base metal. It's punchy, catchy, melodic, filthy at times, and overall an absolute treat to listen to. Another important mention are the atmospheres and how compelling they are - at least for me, they're always strangely nostalgic, reminiscent of late 90s and early 2000s grunge and metal, but evolved for modernity. It's a great album, packed to the brim with great songs, and one for any metal fan, unless you're a poser.
Good
  • It just works™
  • Fantastic riffing, with some riffs being downright disgusting
  • Mark's vocals are as good as ever, with some new stylistic changes
  • A clear evolution in the riff writing styles
Bad
  • The ballad-y sections remain my least favourite, and they add up
  • Cymbals get washed out a little

The resident cave dwelling, chug loving, prog snob that doesn't like prog. You'll find me overindulging in mediocre music and rating it way too high.
