Opeth – The Last Will And Testament (2024) Review

A sorely missed return to form
Summary
Genuinely Opeth's best work since Watershed - and in some cases better than. This is Opeth at their punchiest, with huge passages that don't overstay their welcome, and some of Mikael's most haunting growls he's ever recorded. Every instrument is utilised with almost perfection, the storytelling is impeccable (for what the objective was), and the shock factor for Opeth fans of olde (such as myself) really cements this album as an instant classic. Without a doubt an essential Opeth album that no metal (or even rock ) fan should ignore, irrespective of your genre leanings.

The resident cave dwelling, chug loving, prog snob that doesn't like prog. You'll find me overindulging in mediocre music and rating it way too high.
