Strange, confronting, beautiful, glorious, groovy, nostalgic... these all aptly describe what's going on in Absolute Elsewhere. Immediately, what's required for the full enjoyment of the album experience is the required dedication to consider it as a whole: listened to from start to finish with attention given. That's fairly par for the course with progressive music, but given how Absolute Elsewhere have blended the heavy and calm, I believe more attention need to be paid here, which might deter more casual or non-prog enjoyers from considering the album in it's best form. That being said, you can take it track by track, and within these tracks are some incredible special and memorable moments, but the overall impact the album could have will be lesser than when listened to as a whole. If you don't mind working for your album enjoyment, have a listen.
