Deception – Daenacteh (2024) Review
Summary
Aggression, melody, crescendo, proggy tropes, and a whole lot of riffing. What stands out to me most about Daenacteh is just how many riffs, transitions, and moments would get stuck in my head, beckoning me to listen to them once again. If anything is a heuristic for the score of an album, it's the quantity and quality of their memorable and enduring melodies and moments. The album is not without it's rhythmic praises either: funky, evil rhythms that are aplenty here are the butter to my fried eggs. Deception have released an exceptional metal album full of this glory, solidifying Daenacteh as one of the premiere metal albums of the year. Good
- Unique, compelling riffs and melodies
- Never a dull moment
- Grandiose vocals and thematic scenery
- Very memorable album
Bad
- Harsh vocals let the overall album down
