Persefone – Lingua Ignota: Part 1 (2024) Review

Summary
The first release (EP) with new vocalist Daniel R. Flys is another stellar release from the progressive melodic death metal giants. While not as substantial - track for track - as their previous releases, it is still a thrilling journey through the Persefone cinematic universe.
Good
  • It's Persefone being Persefone
  • Memorable vocal lines
  • Huge riffs
  • Imaginative storytelling and composition
Bad
  • The new harsh vocalist takes some getting used to for older fans
  • Not as melodically overpowering as they're known for
8.8
Great
Leads & Melodies - 8.9
Rhythms & Percussion - 9
Vocals - 8.5
Lyrics & Themes - 8.7
Composition - 8.8
The resident cave dwelling, chug loving, prog snob that doesn't like prog. You'll find me overindulging in mediocre music and rating it way too high.
