Architects – The Sky, The Earth & All Between (2025) Album Review
Summary
Packed with energy and angst, Architect's The Sky, The Earth & All Between sees the British metalcore giants doing more of the hybrid metalcore/rock tropes that have come to define them. If you're a regular Architects fan, chances are this will fit right into your playlists. For those of us who aren't (or are, like myself, relatively indifferent to them) then there are still aspects of melody and instrumentation that, like a pringles can around a fattened hog-fist, is quite a gripping experience. Personally, the higher-pitched clean vocals are not at all my thing which is quite common throughout the album, but they are balanced quite well with the various vocal stylings that Sam Carter likes to explore. The rhythms are groovy enough to be engaging and create an energetic pacing that pulls the songs along. Overall, it's a fairly strong album even after multiple listens, but not one that I see myself revisiting after the fact. Good
- Rhythms are engaging and groovy
- Melodic enough where it needs to be
- Wonderfully energetic most of the time
- Tends towards being very singable
- Decently compelling lyrical themes
Bad
- The clean vocals aren't really my thing
- Would have loved more aggressive sections utilising 16th double kicks (I know it's not their style, but there were parts that almost begged for it)
