Estuarine – Corporeal Furnace (2025) Review

Summary
Alright, this is a tough one. If you heed my advice by going into this with the expectation that the production quality is jarring, and you're paying attention to the recorded music itself, it's a great album that becomes increasingly more rewarding as the album progresses. What makes it resonate with me is how it feels so unique and is very much unto itself: Estuarine almost has no equal. That's most definitely a notch in their cap, but outside of sounding unique, the composition and quality of the riff writing is really great. I'm not sure about what exactly has me so hooked - maybe it's how it works as a gestalt - but I most definitely am. Corporeal Furnace is good and you should listen to it - just put in some effort.
Good
  • Genuinely interesting riffs if you can muster the gumption to endure the production quality
  • Some fantastic parts and transitions
  • Really great compositions
  • Some parts feels nostalgic and I like that
Bad
  • Produced underwater
  • The thesaurus did a lot of work here

The resident cave dwelling, chug loving, prog snob that doesn't like prog. You'll find me overindulging in mediocre music and rating it way too high.
