RUDRA – Antithesis (2025) Review
Summary
RUDRA, who have been around for over 30 years now - all of which I was completely oblivious to - have graced 2025 with a thoroughly decent album. It's a little rough around the edges, but beneath that Singaporean black metal exterior is an album worth chewing on. You're going to hear melodic lines that you haven't heard of, the atmospheres will carefully walk the edge of dull and exquisite - which might piss you off - but ultimately you're going to be left with a sense of enjoyment. Unless you aren't. That's your problem, then. Good
- Thematically interesting
- Memorable melodies and riffs that are appropriate for the themes
- Some surprisingly powerful moments that uplift the whole experience
Bad
- Vocals are definitely the weakest element
- Some moments are too dull
