Sometime In February – Where Mountains Hide (2025) Album Review
Summary
Melodically driven, instrumental metal. A showcase of a bands talents both instrumentally alongside their ability to compose a movement that tells a story emotively without the use of lyrics. It's a tall ask but for those bands who work exclusively through this space, they shape powerful musical passages. Sometime in February have done precisely that with their latest album, 'Where Mountains Hide'. Taking listeners on a sprawling, expansive sound scape with brilliant twists and turns rhythmically and gorgeous lead guitars guiding you through their highs and lows. For a band relatively new to the scene, this is a great statement album to cement their place amongst the heavy hitters in the genre. Good
- Progressively brilliant
- Top tier guitarwork
- Multi-layered, which gives so much depth
Bad
- Leads not always clearest over rhythms
- Composition could be a bit more balanced in parts
