Alter Bridge – Alter Bridge (2026) Review
Summary
Oh, Alter Bridge, you glorious and reliable phallus of musical satisfaction. What? Shut up. This self-titled release is truly great, and Alter Bridge are on full display with this one. The quality of compelling riffs and their construction from passage to passage; the atmospheric execution that keeps me enthralled in the journey; the choruses and singable elements that guide me through the thematically confronting storm, and the compositional satisfaction through which songs are allowed to breathe and reveal themselves show that Alter Bridge have captured something special with Alter Bridge. Alter Bridge's Alter Bridge is anything but an altered bridge - everything is toight as it always has been... like a narrow bridge, you could say. I wouldn't. But you could. I say its a huge bridge - way above average. Some say even the greatest bridge. I wouldn't alter anything. Even if I could it would cost too much and you'd be in a hospital in Tijuana without a regular IV for at least 3 days and that's definitely not worth it. Fantastic album. Good
- Excellent riff writing for Alter Bridge - the heavy is heavy
- Instrumentally everything just works
- The atmospheres and song compositions are excellent
- Vocals still continue to be very strong
- Just more great songs from Alter Bridge
Bad
- I know Tremonti is sort of the defacto go-to for heavier Alter Bridge style songs, and I shouldn't complain, but the ballad-y songs still remain my least favourite - they are here, and they add up
- Hang By A Thread is a bit sh*t, though (Scales Are Falling quickly makes up for it, however)
